Great colour photographs can look even better in black and white. Many professional photographers consider black and white photography to be the purest form of photography and the absence of colour helps to reduce the amount of visual information we need to interpret, allowing us to focus on the basic form within the picture.
For example a bright colourful sunset may actually distract the viewer from an imposing ancient castle upon a hill - but in black and white the bright sunset could actally serve to emphasise and contrast such a structure. Human or pet portraits are particularly popular in greyscale, conveying more emotion and depth. After receiving your picture I'll begin processing and respond with 3 black and white images, each varying in subtle levels of brightness, contrast and tonal style. I'll also attempt to sharpen and adjust tones if necessary.
